Does Cella even care?

My state. Sigh. I haven't been to Oaklawn in ten years and I don't miss it, though I do watch the old clown do the Oaklawn recaps. From time to time I see a suspicious edit in the replay but never a word from the host about any mishaps or injuries. Just like it never happened.

"Note, in one of the accompanying charts, that Arkansas is one of only five states that does not require pre-race inspections of horses and doesn't require post-mortem inspections on horses that die during a race or in training."

CNN's Eatocracy does it again.

What is it with some people that think something has no value unless they can stuff their fat faces with it?

Actually, some of his suggestions are okay .. such as growing vegetables and avoiding factory farmed meats. And sardines are GOOD for you. My Italian dad taught me that. Anchovies are, too. But not every sentient creature in this word is food, and most of us consider donkeys part of the equine family so just don't go there. There is no need to look at the world as one giant dinner plate.

Stanwood Packing; Holding pattern for now

With no help from the federal government, either the executive or legislative branch, it looks like we will have to fight these incursions community by community.

"Claude Bouvry was given ample opportunity to confirm or deny his plan for Stanwood and can consider this a shot across his bow in warning that he is in for a battle if he proceeds."

Comments on Stanwood Packing (I noticed that the water permit was issued in June of 2011 .. and that occupancy permit was issued in November. This means that they were at work re-furbishing the plant months before the defunding ban was lifted)

Dear Ken

March 1st, 2012

Ken Salazar

Secretary of the Interior

Department of the Interior

1849 C Street, N.W.

Washington, D.C. 20240

Phone: (202) 208-3100

Fax: (202) 208-6956

To Secretary Ken Salazar, DOI

Dear Mr. Salazar,

RESCIND CALLIE HENDRICKSON'S APPOINTMENT TO THE WH&B ADVISORY BOARD:

Why did you appoint a pro-slaughter person to be the public's representative on the Wild Horse and Burro advisory board when it's clear that the majority of American's are opposed to sale without limitation or any other method that leads to slaughter of America's wild horses?

Why is Ms. Hendrickson scheduled to appear at the Summit of the Horse being held in Oklahoma in April where many of our wild horses are contained in LTH pastures? Is she representing the BLM at that forum? If so, why is a BLM pro-slaughter advisor representing the public at this Summit which is merely an excuse for returning horse slaughter to the United States and using the horses in LTH as a source of income?

While your actions don't surprise me, your continued show of arrogance is noted and I oppose this appointment and am asking you to rescind.

Secretary Salazar, your agency was responsible for the lack of oversight which led to the Massey Mine deaths, your agency was responsible for the lack of oversight which led to the Deep Horizon disaster, deaths and destruction, and your agency was responsible when the deaths occurred at the off-road race in the Mojave desert.

Why do you even have a job at the taxpayer's expense?

Sincerely,
